Well it is a sad day for those of us who loved the movies coming out of New Line Cinema. Seems that the two head guys at New Line(Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne), who had been there since the beginning, have resigned amidst corporate pressure from their Time-Warner bosses. Seems that New Line has had a few flops lately and Time-Warner has had enough and decided to pull the plug. Now any movies with the New Line logo attached will not be New Line but rather a Warner movie with New Line's name attached. So in honor of the passing of a beloved film company, I offer today a free download at Rapidshare* of an album featuring selections from the franchise that built New Line Cinema into the powerhouse that it once was. The Album is Freddy's Favorites:The Best of A Nightmare on Elm Street.* Seems like it has been years(24 to be exact) since Freddy Krueger nearly bankrupted the company before becoming the most popular of all of New Line's many franchises. New Line truly was "The House That Freddy Built" and I'm not sure where the franchise will go now that New Line is no longer itself, but hopefully Time-Warner won't destroy what New Line has built over all of these years. Goodbye New Line and thanks for all of the memories.
*If the file goes down I won't be re-upping it, so get it while you can.
